Went to Milwaukee today to view HMS Pinafore at the Skylight Opera and was bedazzled.
Upon getting back to my car we discovered the key in the ignitiion and the battery dead.
To our rescue came the Ship's Carpenter of the Pinafore (David Flores in real life)
who was kind enough to give us a jump. What a cozy friendly place!

Today, for the first time I saw a Scott Walker (Rep candidate for Gov of Wisconsin) commercial
several times. In it a "cancer survivor" pointed out that the United States has the best health
care system in the world and that his opponant voted to get rid of that "best health care system".
All I can say is any Wisconsin voter who thinks the USA currently has the best health care system
in the world absolutely should vote for Scott Walker. You'll get what you deserve...
Meanwhile, the rest of us need to move to Canada.

I attended Nav Con in Oak Creek over the weekend. A small but fun local naval wargame
convention. While other gamers were busy sinking ships, I ran a game of "Shipyard".
A good old friend pointed out that we were the only gamers present who were building, not sinking ships.
Speaking of sinking... now for the bad news. At Nav Con I learned that the
USS Olympia is Sinking!
This lovely floating museum in Downtown Philadelphia is closing it's doors foreveron November 22 of this year unless we do something! If you ever want to stand on the
brass footprints of Admiral Dewey and say, "You may fire when you are ready, Gridley,"
you'd better send some money to: The Indepenence Seaport Museum
